Since N. Vrouyr moved to the Komedieplaats in Antwerp in 1920, a well-equipped workshop is located in the same building.
A small team of qualified and skilled craftsmen takes care of restoration, cleaning and maintenance.
Whether it comes to manual cleaning, repairing the ends and fringes or a reconstruction of a large damage, we always provide a free price quotation at the gallery. Taking into account the value of the rug, we will provide an honest advice and guidance to help you choose the right solution.
We treat all matters on the premises and never subcontract!

Contrary to many places where rugs are cleaned using one single method, we carefully adapt the treatment to your rug. Considering its structure and materials, we can avoid risks of colour run by performing the required tests. We work with natural products only. We clean all types of rugs from kilims to handmade rugs.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you suspect moth damage. Despite erroneous information, there is no method to eradicate these bugs forever but with the right care, you can minimize the risks.

We deliver appraisals and certificates for insurance companies and documents for legacies.
We are member of following official organizations: ROCAD (Royal Chamber of Art Dealers), ARTEXPERTS (Belgian association of Art Experts), BSOT (Bundesverband der Sachverständigen für orientalische, handgeknüpfte Teppiche und Flachgewebe e.V.) and the TMV (Federatie van Taxateurs Makelaars Veilinhouders in Roerende Zaken).
We handle the official tariffs, implemented by these organizations.
In Belgium there is no practical neither theoretical examination required to become a rug expert. Anyone can freely sign certificates of origin and call himself an expert. Therefore Naïry Vrouyr has decided to pass the exams at the TMV in the Netherlands and the BSOT in Germany. She was an intern at the Textile Museum in Washington DC and at the restoring workshop of ATC in Izmir, Turkey. She was selected to take part in the ICOC (International Conference on Oriental Carpets) in Stockholm with her study on Roumanian kilims.

Does your rug slide on the floor?
Underlays can be obtained in any size at the store.
The underlays are made of a porous material and floor heating will easily pass through.

At first, sending images of the concerned rug(s) can be helpful to tell if the rug(s) can be of any interest.
