The name Khaladj seems to refer to a population (and language) from the north-west of  Iran. There was once a  region called Khaladjestan near Ferahan and the  Qashqay who were part of the Khaladj family left likely  in the 13th century and travelled down into the south of Iran, settling around Shiraz.

The Khaladj dialect, part of the Turkic group  is still spoken in province Markazi.
