The name Saudj Bulagh, former name of Mahabad near lake Urmyeh, seems to have survived among Iranian carpet dealers when they mention Kurdish rugs from that area.
Dark blue, dark green and a warm orange colour are often used for the knotted rugs. The kilims show very fine patterns.
