Around 1920, the small square carpets were used as seat cushions or meditation rugs in Buddhist monasteries. They featured an uncommon pink color. On one side, there was the so-called "sea and mountains" border (Shoushan Fuhai), while on the other side, there were small Shu circles. The central motif included chrysanthemums.
