Jules Boulez

Jules Jacques Louis Fernand Boulez was a Belgian painter who belonged to the Latem School. He was born in 1889 and was the son of Paul Auguste Joseph Boulez, mayor and gentleman farmer in Sint-Eloois-Vijve. In addition to his paintings, Boulez also designed carpets. There is a well-known Art Deco carpet by his hand, designed around 1930 and knotted in the workshops of E. De Saedeleer. This demonstrates that Boulez was not only active as a painter but was also involved in applied arts. As a painter, Boulez was known for his expressionist works of farms and landscapes, which sold very well.
