Carla Arocha

Carla Arocha, born on October 30, 1961, in Caracas, Venezuela, is a prominent artist known for her work in Minimalism and geometric abstraction.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and degrees in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Arocha's art often reflects her Venezuelan heritage, with notable works like Aqua Trace and the installation Hide at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Her first solo exhibition was at El Museo del Barrio in New York in 1996.
Currently based in Antwerp, Belgium, she is married to Belgian painter Luc Tuymans.
